OVIS information session on the recent Presidential Proclamation restricting entry for H-1B beneficiaries
OVIS is hosting an information session with immigration attorney Dan Berger on Monday, October 13 from 3pm – 4pm. The session is open to Dartmouth students, researchers, faculty, and staff. During the session we will discuss the September 21, 2025 Presidential Proclamation on H-1B beneficiaries and other immigration-related topics impacting our international population. OVIS Drop-in Advising
OVIS will be offering drop-in advising on Thursday, May 15 from 1 to 4pm. This will be for general immigration advising. Undergraduate students with specific D-Plan questions should schedule a 1:1 advising session with your designated OVIS advisor. OVIS is on the third floor of the Bank of America Building, 63 South Main Street, Suite 303.

OVIS is hosting a "Life After Dartmouth" session for international Guarini graduate students. The discussion will cover immigration options following graduation including F-1 OPT, H-1B, L-1, TN and U.S. permanent residence.

Entrepreneurship Information Session for International Students
Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 4:30 pm via Zoom
OVIS invites you to attend an information session on entrepreneurial activities and international students. The session will focus on entrepreneurial activities and their impact on F-1 student status during the degree program and after graduation. The session will also cover other nonimmigrant visa categories that might be used after graduation, and recent legislative and policy changes related to entrepreneurship. Representatives from the Thayer School, Tuck, Geisel and the Magnuson Center will participate, along with Dartmouth's outside immigration counsel. The session is open to international undergraduate and graduate students.

"Know Your Rights" Session

The Office of Visa and Immigration Services (OVIS) and the International Student Experience (ISE) office are hosting a "Know Your Rights" session, presented by the NH affiliate of the ACLU. The session will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 4pm in Cook Auditorium at the Tuck School (Tuck School map). The session is open to students, faculty and staff. The presenters will discuss topics including the state of DACA, ICE and other government agency visits, family preparedness, and how the ACLU is supporting immigrant communities.

OVIS is hosting a "Life After Dartmouth" information session for international graduate students in the Arts & Sciences on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 12pm to 1pm ET. During the session we will cover nonimmigrant visa options for employment after graduation, including F-1 OPT/STEM OPT, the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program, H-1Bs, L-1s, O-1s and TNs.
The session will be offered in a hybrid format. There is limited space, so in person participation will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
