Overview
The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables most citizens or nationals of participating countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. Travelers must have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval in their passport prior to travel.
The Department of State has guidelines to determine whether the visitor is from a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program.
The same restrictions on the scope of permissible B-1 and B-2 activity apply to Visa Waiver travelers.
