DHS Announces Preservation of DACA Program

On June 15, 2017 the Department of Homeland Security announced that DACA program, Deferred Action for Early Childhood Arrivals, will remain in effect. This means that the DACA recipients will continue to be eligible for initial and renewed employment authorization documents (EADS) valid for two-year periods.

Department of Homeland Security also announced that it has issued a memorandum rescinding DAPA, Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents. This program was proposed by the Obama administration but was never implemented because of ongoing litigation.
