Overview
Nationals of certain countries are not required to obtain a B visa stamp from a U.S. consulate, and are instead eligible to enter the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program for up to 90 days. You may not extend your stay or change to another status while in the United States. The same restrictions on the scope of permissible B-1 and B-2 activity apply to Visa Waiver travelers.
The Department of State has guidelines to determine whether the visitor is from a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program.
