Federal Court Issues TRO Stopping Enforcement of March 6 Executive Order on Immigration

On March 6, 2017 the White House issued a new Executive Order on immigration.

PDF versions of the Executive Order and accompanying Fact Sheet are available. The Order was set to go into effect on March 16, 2017, but on March 15 the U.S. District Court in the State of Hawaii issued a Temporary Restraining Order preventing the federal government from enforcing the Executive Order nationwide.

On March 16, 2017 the U.S. District Court in Maryland issued a preliminary injunction stopping enforcement of the March 6 Order nationwide.
