On May 22, 2019 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced that the Department of Homeland Security will increase the SEVIS fees charged to international students and exchange visitors. The new fees will take effect on June 24, 2019. The I-901 SEVIS fee for F-1 international students will increase from $200 to $350. The fee for J-1 students and scholars will increase from $180 to $220. F-1 and J-1 students and scholars who have already paid the SEVIS fee do not need to pay a new fee.
