On January 20, 2025 the U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued a Directive entitled "Enforcement Actions in or Near Protected Areas" that superseded and rescinded the agency's October 2021 "sensitive locations" memorandum providing special protections from U.S. immigration enforcement for certain locations including colleges and universities. The DHS statement on the Directive can be found here. Additional information about the Directive can be found on the ICE website.
